So this weekend we went to Greenhills one last time so Karen could gather some last minute items to take back. Bob graced us with his presence! Bob and his Mom split off from me and went shopping for some things for Bob’s siblings and niece and nephews. When we joined up later Karen was showing me her purchases and shared her shopping experience with her son.
First off, all men hate shopping and Bob is #1 at the top of this list. So to make shopping more entertaining he likes to crack jokes and have fun, which is highly entertaining to watch happen in the Philippines as half the time they have no idea that he’s trying to be funny.
While shopping for pearls, he apparently kept asking the sales ladies if they had pearls for men. They just looked at him for a minute like he was insane. Then they would cheerfully say “pearls for ladies sir”. While shopping for shirts for the kids, they were having trouble determining the right size of shirt to get. Bob asked the sales lady to “get me some kids” to try on the shirts to see if they were the right size. Apparently the ladies were running up and down the aisles grabbing kids (all the sales ladies bring their kids to the market with them). Only in the Philippines!
